PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
Parish Pastoral Council is a group of members from Sacred Heart Parish, elected or appointed, who serve in an advisory capacity and give council and advice to the Pastor. They address and evaluate the needs and goals of the Parish Community.

PARISH FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Parish Finance Committee is responsible for the effective stewardship of the Parish. It functions as an advisor to the Pastor in all financial matters.

PARISH VOCATIONS COMMITTEE
The Vocations Committee gathers together to promote awareness of the need for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life by promoting prayer and providing material and resources that spiritually strengthen families.

PARISH BUILDING AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE
This committee is supported by dedicated parishioners who have special talents in building and maintenance areas. They are committed to maintaining and improving our parish building and grounds. PARISH LITURGY COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Liturgy Committee is to constantly strive for the active, full and conscious participation of the faithful in the liturgy of the Mass

ARTS AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE
The Art and Environment Committee is a group of parishioners who combine their gifts and work together to carry out the task of preparing and decorating for the parish liturgical celebrations. This is done in consultation with the pastor and in accordance with Liturgical and Archdiocesan guidelines on worship.

SACRED HEART COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN
Purpose: The Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women is to encourage one another spiritually and help one another materially. Activities with which we are involved throughout the year include bake and candy sales, Layettes, Appalachian Christmas Program, Spring Luncheon, Funeral Lunch servers, Pro-Life activities, and a Spring Afternoon Recollection.

Membership: All women of the parish 18 and older are members of the S.H.C.C.W. There are no set dues, however, a special envelope is included in our parish packet. Any amount donated is appreciated and will be used to assist us in our many endeavors throughout the year.

SACRED HEART MEN'S CLUB
This organization is open to all male persons of the age 18 years or older who are members of Sacred Heart Parish. Promoting fellowship and social interaction among our members, we support our parish through fund raising activities. Join us each year for our great and famous Mostaccioli Dinner the last week of October. Other activities sponsored by the Men's Club are a Golf Tournament, Adult/Child Twins game and other various service activities throughout the year.

MUSIC MINISTRY
Have you ever thought about becoming involved with the music program at Sacred Heart? Now is the time to become involved. The music programs will soon be starting up for the school year and you don't have to be a trained musician to join the ensembles of Sacred Heart. You do have to enjoy making music, praising God, and enjoy the fellowship of friends. Consider joining one or more of these ensembles.

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 PM and sings at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass 3-4 times a month. They also sing on the High Feast days. The Chancel Choir is a 4-part ensemble that sings a variety of repertoire from Latin motets to African American Spirituals. Rehearsals are held in the choir room and begin on Wednesday, September 5.

The Random Spirits choir is an ensemble open to all women of the parish. They rehearse in the church on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM and sing 2-3 part repertoire. For more information contact Teri Blonigan at 763.535.5576.

The Festival Choir is an ensemble comprised of the Random Spirits and Chancel Choir as well as other members of the parish. This ensemble sings on the major Feast Days of the Year. (Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday, Pentecost, Vespers) This is a perfect choir for those that can't make a commitment to singing every Sunday. Call if you are interested in singing in this choir and to receive a schedule of rehearsals.

There are two children's choirs for the younger members of our parish. The Cherub Choir is open to all children in 3rd - 5th grade. This choir will rehearse in the choir room on Wednesdays from 3:00-3:45 PM and sings once a month at the 5:00 PM Saturday Mass. Rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, October 3.

The Junior Choir is open to any children in 6th - 8th grade. They will rehearse in the choir room on Wednesdays from 4:00-4:45 PM and sing once a month at the 5:00 PM Saturday Mass. Rehearsals will begin on Wednesday, October 3.

The Chimings Choir is a chime ensemble open to children in 3rd - 8th grade. This is a chime choir that will rehearse in the school cafeteria on Thursdays from 3:00-3:45 PM. Your child must be in either the Cherub Choir or Junior Choir to join this ensemble. This ensemble plays once a month at the 5:00 PM Saturday Mass. Rehearsals will begin on Thursday, October 4.

The Handbell Ensemble rehearses in the school cafeteria on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM and plays once a month at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. You must be able to read music to join this ensemble. Rehearsals will begin on Thursday, September 6.

The Resurrection Choir is an ensemble of women that sing for all of the parish funerals and Senior First Friday Masses. They mainly sing 2-part music. This ensemble rehearses once a month and meets in the choir room 40 minutes prior to each funeral.

If you are a vocalist and want to give your talents as a cantor, please call Jeffrey Patry for an audition. I would love to welcome any new cantors.

What if you are an instrumentalist? There are plenty of opportunities to play an instrument during Mass. Get in touch with me if you are interested in sharing your talents as an instrumentalist.

We have an exciting year planned so consider joining one or more of the ensembles. I would love to have many new members!!
